Geikie Gorge, Fitzroy Crossing, Port Hedland

The Geikie Gorge is the most popular one in Australia, as it is only 20km off the highway and the road there is all road and no dirt track. Once there it is a quick walk to the rivers edge and then 2 hours on the water. This area is completeley flooded in the wet season. The Gorge was fantastic, but I think that I am all gorged out and now I can cross that off my to-do list.Well the time has come to return along the Northern Highway to our next stop which is the Pilbara and the town we are staying at is Port Hedland. We are house sitting and baby sitting a 5mth old Rotti pup. We arrived here at 1000hrs on the 12th Sept and the house owner left at midday to Bali. now for three weeks in a big house and a little room to spread your legs. The temps here in Port Hedland are a little milder than Kununurra and at least it cools down at night to 16 degrees .
