Had a day trip to Marble Bar, but it only took 1 hour to look around town and see 'the marble bar' which turned out to be a jasper bar and therefore the town never prospered. Today there is 2 new mines starting up and a little life is coming back to the town. It is best known for the hottest place in Australia on the most consecutive days. just out of town were 2 water pools left over from the wet, but they were boarding on the stagnet stage
The country on the way like everywhere up here in the Pilbara is very characterless but the town had 2 nice building one being the courthouse and the other a rundown pub which is For Sale for $1,000,000 Any takers??
