Well we had to do a trip to Karijini National Park, even though it was hot as hell and in the middle of the day. From where we are in PH the road trip is 250km and on one of the side roads is the old town of Wittennoom which is now a ghost town with about 6 permanent residents and above is an eccentric looking house from one of the residents. Don't know what the white cones on the roof are for, maybe to speak to people in outer space. I think you would be a little crazy to remain in this town with no facilities like power, telephone and the remnants of blue asbestos. There is water on but as the government wants to wipe the town off the map, but it will not give the few residents a fare price so that they can buy in another town i.e. Newman which is 150km away
Karijini was pretty, especially at Fern pool (above) and the waterfall and behind that was a huge colection of water feeding the falls. We also visited the visitor's centre. The cloud formations above the landscapes were absolutely awesome
