A View from the bus |
This tour lasted 12 hours and was a very long day but amazing scenery and snow. We left Bergen, on the local line to be transferred to a bus to be transferred then to a fjord ferry and then to the highlight, the 'Flam Railway'
We eventually arrived at the ferry for a gorgeous ride through the famous Granger Fjord to the start of the flam railway.
The carriages are old in style but inside comfortable but definitely not first class,. We were all rugged up in fact over the last 3 weeks we were never unrugged anywhere between 4-5 layers of clothing plus hats and gloves. We were prepared...........

Coastal Village in the fjord |
Many of the towns along the fjord were so picturesque and at one point there was a glazier all the way to the water
Eventually arrived at the railway for the railway with the very steep climb up through the snow line to the summit

Brunch on the cheap |
Well it was time for brush having set out so early and only with a minimal breakfast it was time for brunch. Seating outside in the brisk air and with our own picnic baskets.....we had lunch on the go. I forget what was the contents but I am sure it was one of our cheapskate ploughman's lunch/dinners.
Flash packers was maintaining the budget AGAIN.....................
