In approx. the 16th century this boat was built, sailed, and sunk. travelled only 1.5km and whoosh down to the murky waters of the Baltic, preserved for 500 years and raised in the 1950's.
This is the recreated model and the next photo is of the stern and all the intricate work of the carvings.
The methods used were the precursor to the restoration success of the Batavia in Perth WA

If you ever go to Sweden this is well worth the visit and the cafeteria is fantastic and cheap and that is saying something in Scandinavia
