Kizhi

 The buildings on this island are World Heritage listed, all the structures are wood and there is a complete no smoking from the moment we landed

Even the domes of the church are made from wood and they have weathered over the years and glow silver throughout the day

As you can see from the photo above , the work involved is immense and intricate, inside was not as pretty but there were many hand painted icons.

This island is also only opened in the warmer months and as for the rest of the year, snow is a problem so to speak
