St Petersburg sights

This palace was completely destroyed and looted during the WWII many of the artefacts were hidden from the advancing Nazis, but the destruction was beyond belief, but was restored again like so much post WWII by the communist regimes

This is a picture of  picture of the destruction I mentioned, and thank god for communism for it made the money available for such work to begin and be completed
